Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Mio AI ("Mio," "we," "us," "our") handles your data when you use our app, website (mio.gg), and related services.
What We Collect
You provide:
- Phone number — for account creation and login (SMS verification)
- Name — used by the AI agent when making calls on your behalf
- Memory — contacts, preferences, and context you choose to save
- Chat messages — your conversations with Mio and AI responses
- Payment info — processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details
Generated through use:
- Call records — phone numbers, direction, status, duration, timestamps, agent instructions
- Transcripts and summaries — AI-generated text after each call
- Transaction history — call charges, top-ups, amounts
Collected automatically:
- Timezone — from your device, for scheduling and display
- Approximate location — city/region/country from your IP address (via Cloudflare), for location-aware search; we don't collect GPS data
- Push notification tokens — to deliver call updates
- Server logs — IP addresses and request data, retained ~30 days for debugging
What we don't collect:
- Call audio recordings (none exist — see below)
- Your phone's contact list
- GPS or precise location
- Biometric data
No Call Recording
Mio does not record calls. Audio streams in real time between our telephony provider and voice AI provider, then it's gone. After a call, only a text transcript and summary are stored. No audio files are ever created or saved.
Our voice AI provider (ElevenLabs) operates under zero-data retention — they don't store call audio or conversation data after processing.
Text Messaging
Mio sends SMS text messages to users who initiate conversations by texting Mio's phone number. Messages are conversational and transactional — sent only in direct response to user-initiated requests. Mio does not send marketing or promotional messages.

- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
By texting Mio's phone number, you consent to receive conversational and transactional text messages in response. See our Terms of Service for more details.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to operate Mio: authenticate you, make and answer calls, generate transcripts, deliver notifications, process payments, and personalize the AI with your saved context.
We don't sell your data. We don't serve ads.
Who We Share With
We share data only with the service providers that make Mio work:

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Data Retention
Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete individual chats anytime (which deletes all associated messages). To delete your entire account and all data, email [email protected].
Transaction records may be retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
Security
We use industry-standard measures: hashed tokens, parameterized queries, HTTPS, short-lived sessions with automatic rotation. That said, no system is 100% secure.
Your Rights
You can:
- View your data anytime in the app (profile, chats, calls, billing)
- Edit your name, memory, and preferences
- Delete individual chats or your entire account
- Disable push notifications via device settings
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales (we don't sell data). Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.
Other U.S. states with privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, etc.): contact us for any applicable requests.
For any data request, we'll respond within 30 days.
International Users
Mio is operated from the United States. By using the Service, your data is processed in the US.
Children
Mio is for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor is using Mio, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
We'll notify you of material changes through the app. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
