Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 31, 2026

This policy explains how Mio ("Mio," "we," "us," "our") handles your data when you use the website at mio.gg, the Mio widget on our pages, the web app at web.mio.gg, and related services. Mio is operated by Half Moon Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.

What we don't collect:

Don't Give Mio Sensitive Numbers

Mio never asks for your Social Security number, your date of birth, a full card number, an account PIN, or a password — and you shouldn't give them. The AI agent is instructed never to provide, confirm, or guess any of them on a call. It doesn't have them.

When an agency or business needs to verify who you are, that's the moment Mio connects you so you can answer directly. Anything you type into Mio, though, is stored — so please leave those details out.

No Call Recording

Mio does not record call audio. Recording is switched off at our voice provider. Audio passes through in real time between the telephony provider and the voice agent, and then it's gone — no audio file is created or saved.

A written transcript is created and stored — but only of the part Mio was on. The transcript covers the AI agent working through the phone menu and speaking with whoever or whatever it reached: the recording, the menu, the person who eventually picked up. It can contain whatever was said on that stretch of the call, including personal details the other party brings up. It's stored on your account so you have a record.

What you say once you're connected is not transcribed and not stored. The moment Mio brings you in, the AI hands the call over and drops off, and the transcript ends there. Your conversation with the representative is between you and them — Mio isn't on the line for it and keeps no text of it.

Some states and countries require all parties to consent before a call is recorded or monitored. Mio doesn't record audio, but the stored transcript of the AI's part of the call may still fall under those rules where you are. You're responsible for knowing what applies to the calls you ask for — see the Terms of Service.

Text Messaging

The only text Mio sends today is the one-time code that confirms your phone number when you start a call or sign in. No marketing, no promotional messages. If we ever add texts about a call you started — a status update, say — they'd follow the same rule: only in reply to something you started. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

To stop texts from Mio, email [email protected]. For message frequency, rates, and what you authorized, see the Terms of Service.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to run Mio: verify your phone number, place the call you asked for, call you back and connect you, write the transcript and summary, send your receipt, place and settle the card hold, email you about Mio itself (product news and updates), and — in the web app — personalize the assistant with the context you saved.

We don't sell your data. We don't serve ads.

Who We Share With

We share data only with the service providers that make Mio work:

Provider What they get Why
Twilio Phone numbers, call metadata, SMS verification codes Telephony and phone verification
ElevenLabs Live call audio, the number being called, your callback number, and the brief for the call The AI voice agent
OpenAI Chat messages and transcripts Chat assistant and call summaries
Stripe Card details, email, hold and capture amounts Payments
Resend Email address, your account ID, receipt details All of Mio's email. Transactional — the receipt and result after a call. And product email — whenever you give us an address, it is also stored as a contact in Resend's audience, which is the list the welcome message and any later email about Mio is sent from. It's the same address for both. You can unsubscribe from the product email; receipts continue.
Cloudflare IP address, browser and device information, and the result of the bot check on the phone-number step Sits in front of our pages: blocks bots and abuse, and supplies the approximate city/region/country used to find local numbers
Plausible Analytics Page visits on our public pages; for events our server sends (a call dialing, a payment settling), your IP address and browser user-agent Traffic and product analytics — no cookies, no advertising profiles, no cross-site tracking
DigitalOcean Everything Mio stores, as the servers and databases live there Hosting

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data Retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. In the web app you can delete individual chats anytime (which deletes their messages). To delete your entire account and all data, email [email protected]. If you only ever used the widget, email us from the address on your receipt, or tell us the number you gave, and we'll delete the record.

Payment and transaction records may be retained as required by tax and financial regulations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures: hashed tokens, parameterized queries, HTTPS, and short-lived sign-in tokens that are reissued as you use Mio. Card numbers never touch our servers — Stripe handles them. That said, no system is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You can:

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales (we don't sell data). Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.

Other U.S. states with privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, etc.): contact us for any applicable requests.

For any data request, we'll respond within 30 days.

International Users

Mio is operated from the United States. By using the Service, your data is processed in the US.

Children

Mio is for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor is using Mio, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

We'll notify you of material changes through the Service. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
