SMS Messaging & Opt-In
Mio is an AI phone assistant that makes and answers phone calls on your behalf. You interact with Mio entirely by text message — you tell Mio what you need, and Mio replies. Every conversation is started by the user. Mio never sends unsolicited, marketing, or promotional messages.
How Opt-In Works
Mio is texts-first. There is no separate sign-up form or checkbox — the act of texting Mio is the opt-in.
- A user sends a text message to Mio's phone number — initiated from the button on our website, from the app, or by texting the number directly.
- The act of texting Mio constitutes the user's express consent to receive conversational SMS replies from Mio.
- The user immediately receives a welcome message that identifies Mio AI and includes opt-out and help instructions.
- From then on, Mio only replies to user-initiated requests. There is no marketing, ever — only conversational, on-demand responses.
Proof of Opt-In
Below is the actual opt-in exchange a user sees the first time they text Mio. The user's outbound message is the consent; Mio's first reply is the welcome message with the required disclosures.
The user texts first. That message is the opt-in. Mio's first reply identifies the service and includes opt-out and help instructions.
Message Frequency & Rates
Message frequency varies by user activity — messaging is conversational and on-demand, so you only receive replies to requests you send. There are no scheduled or recurring marketing messages.

You can opt out at any time. The following keywords are supported on Mio's number:
- STOP — unsubscribes you from all messages. Reply STOP at any time and Mio will send one confirmation message and then stop texting you.
- HELP — returns help information, including how to reach support and how to opt back in.
